Eastman | Leadbetter Rabid Dog Relic | SB55/CUSTOM | Deep Burst Relic

This guitar came to us as a brand spanking new Eastman sB55/v in Sunburst.

Taking a guitar of this standard and giving it our “Rabid Dog Relic” treatment may seem crazy to some, but blemishes in the original hand varnished finish on these instruments made them prime candidates for us! 

Factory fitted with a USA Lollar low wind P-90 pickup plus aged wraparound tailpiece and tuning keys from Faber in Germany, there was no need to upgrade anything. The best of the best was already here. 

As always, we have simplified the electronics down to just a master volume with a Bourns pot and Switchcraft Jack socket )installed on our Custom aluminium name plate, Jack plate).

Custom finish

Here in the Leadbetter Guitar Co Workshop at Nepean Music we have hand sanded the varnished top coat of the body away, relic’d  the colour coat to give the feel and look of a much older players guitar, then applied a new ultra thin custom Vintage Matt Clear with 0.7% yellow added. 
No changes were made to the neck on this instrument. It still has the original Varnish Finsh. 

Setup

Precision setup with Dunlop 10-46 strings  by Joel in the Nepean Music Workshop.

This release of Eastman “Rabid Dog Relics” for October is unique, in that there is only one of each guitar.

Case

Eastman hard shell case included. Cases have also been modified in appearance to look like a well traveled and worn in original. Cause, why not.
